As part of our work to train trainers in schools to plan and deliver quality RSHE lessons, we have a number of webinars planned. Each webinar will involve both the delivery of the DfE powerpoint resources, of which there are 14 in total, and input from an expert trainer based on the topic.
Our first webinar was on Mental Wellbeing - Dr Hazel Harrison, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Think Avellana shared her approach to encouraging positive mental wellbeing as a whole school approach based on the PERMA model and PSHE lead Kelly Saunders and Assistant Headteacher, Louise Ramsay, shared how trainers could train staff based on the Mental Wellbeing government resources and their own school experience. A recording was made of the training session on 7th July 2020 - if you missed it and would like to view the webinar, please contact Steph Smart at dhstsa@debenhamhigh.co.uk to arrange for the recording to be made available. To supplement this Debenham High School shared one of their units of work - Year 9 Unit 1 which showcased some strategies used within school to meet the government standards. Please see attached the slideshow prepared for the training - access to the DfE slideshow can be directly gained at the GOV.UK site.
