Initial Teacher Training
THOSE WHO EDUCATE CHILDREN WELL ARE MORE TO BE HONOURED THAN THEY WHO PRODUCE THEM
The Mid Suffolk Teaching School Alliance is committed to training the next generation of teachers. Most members of the alliance have trainee teachers in their schools. There are a number of different routes into teaching, with salaried and non-salaried routes, full-time and part-time options. The diversity of routes does vary for different subjects and if you have an enquiry about which might be the best route for your circumstances please do not hesitate to contact us.
The alliance works with a number of ITT providers in order to deliver a high quality, professional training package. There are a number of different routes into teaching; some school-based and some university-based. All include significant time in the classroom working with experienced and skilled practitioners. To learn to teach in this area is to be at the heart of some of the best practice in the country. GCSE results in the local area are regularly the highest performing in the local authority and often in the top state schools in the country. This performance comes strong foundations lain in the primary stage and focused work with subject specialists once students progress to high school.
The alliance is also eager to make contact with and work with those who are at the initial stage of considering a career in teaching. This includes a Graduate Intern programme run at Debenham High School, Farlingaye High School and Stowupland High School. All schools also regularly host people who are looking for an insight into school practice.
